Two short baroque operas are performed in a modern context under the theme of “love and death”. “Pazzo amor” (Bertali) touches on the passionate love of a man, a love which yearns to possess the object of his desire. “Il ballo delle ingrate” (Monteverdi) continues on this theme in some respects. One learns of the fate of women who resist the wooing of men and are punished with banishment to the Underworld. The performance with the Consort of the “Freiburger Barockorchester” premiered in the Freiburg Konzerthaus.
