A spectacle on the Orpheus myth shines on the first day of the Fira

Large-scale production air-borne. The PAN.OPTIKUM ensemble performed the astonishing open-air spectacle of Orpheus, a top-class production commissioned by G. Mortier, the Director of the Paris Opera for the “Ruhrtriennale 2004”. The piece was actually created with about 4000 people in mind, a number which was exceeded by far in Tarrega. Based on the classical myth of Orpheus and without pyrotechnics of any kind, the extremely visual performance generates scenes of extraordinary beauty through a very unusual language, dancers in the air, multidisciplinary performers and high-impact scenic structure. State-of-the-art technology and the combination of various genres such as theatre, dance and opera support this spectacle. Many of those present agreed that it was one of the best openings in years.
