MC Messer

A modern, evening-filling performance of the Beggar’s Opera, which in the 1920s served as the historic forerunner for Bertolt Brecht’s Threepenny Opera. Director Sigrun Fritsch relocated the plot from Soho to an imaginary island at a camp for refugees seeking asylum in Europe. Together with Rapucation, and choreographies from two prize-winning dance trainers, this production was performed with pupils from high schools in Augsburg for this year’s Brecht Festival.
From Beggar’s Opera to Battle Opera.
