Il Corso
The action theatre ensemble PAN.OPTIKUM developed this production based on Pablo Neruda’s volume of poetry “The Book of Questions” in 2000/01 as their first large-scale urban production for more then 5,000 spectators, and was invited to perform it more than 150 times the world over.
The poems from the “Book of Questions” by Chilean poet and winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature Pablo Neruda (1904 – 1973) along with the music form the ostinato of the performance. In these 74 two-line verses raising 316 puzzling questions he frequently and ingeniously masks the desire to fathom being at a meta-level in naïve unconcern.
The volume of poems was created in the last few weeks of the poet’s life.
