Symbiosis
After the “Virtual Minefield” (2004), Symbiosis is the second project which is neither performative representation nor fine art. Together with artist Peter Zizka from Frankfurt, P.O. makes an attempt to broach the issue covert arms shipments from industrial nations to areas of conflict and make it the topic of discourse. After years of research and preparation, 300 weapons from Burundi were demilitarised there and brought (back) to Europe, where they were made into exhibits and shown for the first time at the ZKM Museum in Karlsruhe; Germany. With Caritas International as a cooperation partner, three projects in Burundi were chosen to receive the entire proceeds from the sale of the individual exhibits.
